We are entering an age where the boundary between human and machine has become blurred. Bionic contact lenses and retinal implants are a reality that will restore vision to millions of people in the near future. By performing surgery on a mock-up bionic eye I pose questions on how far we can engineer our eyes until we lose our state of “being human” and become bionic beings.
